With the uprise of single-board computers like Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone it's often useful to have a few extra wireless keyboard/mouse around that'll allow us to change a setting, or control them without the messiness of wired connections. Whereas many different wireless keyboard/mouse exist in the market, we've typically found them to be too bulky and expensive. This little keyboard carries a built-in touchpad, it's rechargeable, and only ties a single USB port on the computer so for us, it's a clear winner!
Based on numerous requests from our customers, we found the smallest wireless USB keyboard measuring only 6in×2.4in×0.5in (152mm×59mm×12.5mm). It's very lightweight and can be controlled as a gamepad—using mostly your thumbs to type/scroll! The built-in battery is easily rechargeable, simply connect the included USB cable to any USB port or wall adapter. Whereas the wireless communication to this keyboard is in the 2.4GHz band, it doesn't use the Bluetooth protocol. Nonetheless, it works up to 30-feet away from the computer to which it's connected!
Please note that the intended use for this keyboard is with a USB host such as a computer (including single-board computers like Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone). It's not intended for use with microcontroller development boards like Arduino, Basic Stamp, etc.
We've tested this device on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, and we've found it to work right out of the box. No need for installing drivers or changing configuration settings!
