Description
Ready to build the next robot or servo-powered project? Well, look no further. When used with the RFduino Development Board, the RFduino Servo Shield allows us to control 4 servos independently via Bluetooth or USB.
The RFduino Servo shield conveniently bears an external supply input with reverse polarity protection so that we can provide the necessary power needed by the servos (typically 5–6V). Because the RFduino BLE 4.0 SMT Module operates at 3.3V, the shield also includes a 4-channel 3.3/5V level shifter (74AHCT125) so that the signals to the servos carry the necessary voltage levels.
Both the Micro Servo and Continuous Rotation Servo we carry work great with this shield, and do need a 5–6V external power supply to be connected. The shield, however, also allows us to use 3.3V-level signals for cases where we want to drive external circuitry at 3.3V.
