Description
The LilyTiny is a tiny board designed to add programmable functionality to your project without taking up a lot of room. Despite its small footprint, the onboard ATtiny microcontroller allows you to read and control a wide assortment of electronic components! The most popular use for this board is in wearable projects, e.g., simply sew on 4 LEDs and connect a battery to make each LED blink or fade differently.
The onboard ATtiny85 comes pre-programmed with different LED blinking patterns on each pin. However, the microcontroller comes with special booatloader that allows you to re-program it using the Arduino IDE. For advanced users, the ICSP pins are broken out on the back so you can load any custom firmware and or bootloader.
The LilyTiny is part of the LilyPad family of boards, which comprise a wearable e-textile technology developed by Leah Buechley and cooperatively designed by Leah and SparkFun. Each LilyPad-compatible board was creatively designed to have large connecting pads to allow them to be sewn into clothing. Various input, output, power, and sensor boards are available.
