Description
This Motor Shield with the Arduino UNO form factor is based on the TB6612 MOSFET driver, which is able to handle 1.2A per channel—you can draw up to 3A peak for approx 20ms at a time—and also has a low voltage drop across the motor compared to the traditional L293D driver, so you get more torque out of your batteries. With built-in flyback diodes as well and a fully dedicated PWM chip onboard, this Motor Shield has it all for your motorized projects.
The included PCA9865 PWM chip is able to drive the two TB6612 Motor Driver chips onboard, as well as provide a couple of ports for connecting ‘hobby’ servos. This makes it really easy to interface with an Arduino UNO or any other microcontroller development board. Connect the two I2C lines, and start driving up to 4 DC motors, 2 stepper motors, and/or 2 servos with ease using any of the library options for the PCA9865 or the Motor Shield itself.
Features:
- Control Interface: I2C 7-bit addresses between 0x60~0x80, selectable with jumpers
- 2 connections for 5V ‘hobby’ servos connected to the Arduino’s high-resolution dedicated timer - no jitter!
- Up to 4 bi-directional DC motors with individual 8-bit speed selection
- Up to 2 stepper motors (unipolar or bipolar) with single coil, double coil, interleaved or micro-stepping
- Motor power supply (VM): 4.5~13.5VDC
- Max. Output Current: 1.2A (average) / 3A (peak)
- Perfect for robotics projects!
