Breadboard Breakout Kit for Raspberry Pi [B+,2]
Whether it be for blinking an LED or building a Raspberry Pi-powered Smartphone, it is incredibly useful to access the Input/Output pins of the Raspberry Pi. This Breakout Kit makes the task quite easy by breaking out the pins onto any solderless breadboard.

Arguably, the most attractive feature of a Raspberry Pi is its ability to perform 'physical computing' tasks. After connecting a monitor and a keyboard, and completing the initial setup of this single-board computer, we are able to interact with real-world devices right from the Operating System (a feat not easily doable from a standard desktop or laptop computer). In order to facilitate connecting the Input and Output pins of the Pi, we designed a kit that allowed us to access them using a solderless breadboard!
Simply plug the board into any solderless breadboard (that is 0.1" spaced, of course), and connect the ribbon cable between the breakout board's socket, and the 26-pin header on the Pi. Then, easily access all the available pins including those connected to the Pi's SPI, I²C, and UART lines, as well as the Ground, 3.3V and 5V power. These pins function in a similar way to those we may have seen on an Arduino or any other Microcontroller Development Board, allowing us to sense and/or control the state of buttons, switches, sensors, and other components and devices. Each pin’s function is clearly silkscreened on the board for your convenience. Our breakout board is compatible with both Raspberry Pi Model B revisions.
Two Different Form Factors
The Kit comes in two different versions. One that is optimized for size (dubbed 'N-Break'), and another that is optimized for readability (dubbed 'T-Break'). The listing photos illustrate the pin layout for each one of the boards.
What's included?
Please note that you will receive the breadboard breakout board and a 26-pin flat ribbon cable with a female connector (type IDC) at each end. Additional items shown on the photographs such as breadboards, jumper wires, A/V and Ethernet cables, and the Raspberry Pi itself, are not included with the Kit, but that are readily available in our store!
