When you don't need the tiny size of this Wi-Fi USB Module, or if you're in need of an increased connection range, our Wi-Fi USB Module with Antenna also offers a great solution for internet connectivity!
If you're using a single-board computer like the Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone then you can wirelessly access the internet using one of these high-performance USB modules. This particular model works well with both the Raspberry Pi and BeagleBone boards without the need of recompiling the Linux kernel.
After a couple of minutes configuring the module, you'll have wireless access to any nearby 802.11b/g/n network! This module allows you to make your Internet of Things devices cable-free by connecting it to any of their USB ports, giving them a low cost, highly-reliable wireless link.
If you're using this module with a Raspberry Pi, note that the latest Raspbian distributions support it out-of-the-box (check out our tutorial for setting it up). Also, note that a powered USB hub may be needed for increasing the range of the module's signal, so if you're experiencing any flakiness on your connection from a Raspberry Pi, try a hub!
