Description

This Hardware Attached on Top (HAT) is based on the fantastic work of Henner Zeller who developed open source software and hardware that allow connecting a PxMatrix (Hub75) type of RGB LED matrices to the Raspberry Pi single-board computer. Hand-wiring the matrices to the individual pins of the Pi can be a quite tedious, so this HAT allows a more direct, plug-and-play approach. The HAT works great with the software library “rpi-rgb-led-matrix”.

Usage:

  • Easily connect your P6, P10, or any other P-series RGB LED panel matrix to the Raspberry Pi
  • Download/Install the rpi-rgb-led-matrix software (available on Github):
    make -C examples-api-use
    sudo examples-api-use/demo -D0
  • Use the utilities (optional)
  • Write your own programs in the native C++, or using one of the included bindings (Python or C#)
