The WeMos D1 Mini family of boards is one of the latest additions to the ESP8266-based IoT ecosystem. The WeMos D1 Mini 64×48 Monochrome OLED Display Shield includes a small (0.66in) high-contrast OLED screen that can add a Graphical User Interface to your electronics projects.
The WeMos D1 Mini 64×48 Monochrome OLED Display Shield is designed so that pins D1 (SCL) and D2 (SDA) are on the WeMos D1 Mini V2 board are connected to the I2C lines on the SSD1306 driver of the screen. This means that you might need to configure your software to use D1 and D2 for I2C communication. The fantastic u8g2 library for Arduino works great with this screen.
